Found in a 1983 Camaro Z28. From my brief research, this wasn’t a popular option (RPO U35).

Quartz with a Z! :P
But that’s neat, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one mounted way down there before...seems a bit out of the way...?

Wow I bet those broke even faster than the typical clocks found in malaise era American cars

Oops...
I can’t imagine that placement was very practical. It’s like they realized after designing the interior that they forgot to mount a clock somewhere. Most of them did have a digital clock in the radio though.

I wonder what time it is?
I’ll just take my eyes off the road, look straight down and under my forearm, and...

Welp, I know what to look for if I see a 3rd gen hit a junkyard near me!

Damn, from the headline I assumed this was an Aston Martin.
I should have known it really in America’s answer to the Vantage.

Yeah, t hat’s a pretty terrible place for a clock. It’s even further from the driver’s immediate periphery than those bottom-of-the-center-console gauges that some other gens offer.

Good luck! I think it was optioned on 4,641 cars, if online RPO records are to be trusted.

I take that back, I somehow missed the 1982 model year where they were standard on the Z28 and Berlinetta... add 14,166 to the previous number...

It was also featured somewhat prominently in their early promotional material, too...

Jeeze ... That's freaking bizzare!
